Bugatti Type 10 to Type 40

Anotace

The first real Bugatti was the Type 13. Production of this car and the later Types 15, 17, 22, and 23, began with the company's founding in 1910 and lasted through to 1920 with 435 examples produced. Most road cars used an 8-valve engine, though five Type 13 racers had 16-valve heads, one of the first ever produced. The road cars became known as "pur-sang" ("thoroughbred") in keeping with Ettore Bugatti's feelings for his designs. Production was started again after World War I with multi-valve engines which brought fame to the marque at Brescia. The "Brescia Tourer" went on to bring in much-needed cash at that time. This portfolio traces Ettore Bugatti's early models starting with the prototype Type 10. Included are road tests, new model introductions, full specifications and performance data plus classic features, and historic salons. Models reported on are the Type 10 and Type 13, the Brescia racer and the Type 18 Garros. The Types 22, 23 & 30, the Type 35-A-B-C-T plus the Types 37-A, 38, 39 and the Type 40 tourers.
