Paolo Tumminelli, professor at the Cologne International School of Design, wrote and created this book on occasion of the 50th anniversary of ALPINA, a small but impressive automobile manufacturer and partner of BMW in Buchloe, Bavaria. Based on selected BMW models, they build special automobiles for a circle of connoisseurs – „automobile gourmets“ – with a fine taste, who appreciate exclusiveness and have a liking for state-of-the-art technology.
The ALPINA world, their brand philosophy and their milestones are presented in every detail: from the first stages of development to today‘s car models. The book is about the design and style of ALPINA icons, the company’s history, and ALPINA Racing and its records.
„OAL – BB 50 – THE ALPINA BOOK“ is an over-400-page illustrated book on automobiles with historic pictures and current photos, but also facts and figures concerning future prospects.

Paolo Tumminelli, Professor an der Köln International School of Design, erzählt und gestaltet das Buch zur 50-jährigen Firmengeschichte von ALPINA, einem kleinen, aber feinen Automobilhersteller und Partner von BMW im bayerischen Buchloe. Dort werden auf Basis von ausgewählten BMW-Fahrzeugen besondere Automobile gebaut für einen Kreis von Kennern – „automobilen Gourmets“ –, die Feingeschmack, Sinn für Exklusivität und ein Faible für Spitzentechnologie besitzen.
